Connect to the IT World is an effort on our part to provide a quality learning tool to the school students, to help them leap into the next generation computing applications and technologies while grounding their feet solidly into the basics. Some of the key features of this series are: -Books 9 and 10 of the series have been made taking into account the latest guidelines issued by CBSE CCE Syllabus of "Foundation of Information Technology (Code No. 165)" for Classes IX and X of CBSE, Delhi, for the session 2012-13, onwards. -The series presents latest trends and introduces the computer parts with reference to their functions in the overall working of the computer. -The contents have been kept simple and lucid. Sections like Tip!, Do You Know?, and Remember provide useful and relevant information to the students. -The contents and applications have been taught simply with illustrations and Screenshots to help the students learn the subject on their own. -The various social and ethical issues arising out of the widespread use and proliferation of IT have been dealt with comprehensively in a thought provoking manner. -It is the first series to fully integrate the CCE requirements of the boards and schools and has been written in a way that they help teachers to continuously and comprehensively evaluate the students learning and skills. -Teachers Proforma for CCE and Students Proforma for CCE have been developed that integrate the CCE requirements with the books completely. -Formative Evaluation is facilitated through sections such as CCE Task, CCE Practical, Keyboard Shortcuts, CCE Activity, and CCE Exercises. -Summative Evaluation is facilitated based on the CBSE guidelines, through CCE IT Applications, CCE Sample Papers and CCE Cyber Olympiad, etc. -Ample number of HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) questions are also given at the end of each chapter that aim to encourage the children to think logically and apply the knowledge gained through the chapter creatively to find solutions.
